They sent me photos of the slipped slates before I'd finished my tea. Fair price, no upsell, done the same week.

Spec What we do
Roofs, start to ridge.
Most of Torbay sits under Victorian and Edwardian slate. We repair it, re-roof it and keep the lead, chimneys and gutters around it sound.
Full re-roof
Strip to the rafters, new breathable membrane and treated battens, then natural slate laid double-lap with every joint staggered.
Slate repairs
Slipped and cracked slates re-fixed or replaced to match, often without scaffolding on lower roofs.
Lead & chimneys
New Code 4 lead flashings, re-pointed stacks, re-bedded chimney pots and capped flues.
Flat roofs
Bay tops, dormers, extensions and garages in GRP fibreglass or EPDM rubber, laid in one piece.
Gutters & fascias
Cast-iron style or seamless aluminium guttering, uPVC or timber fascias, cleared and flushed every time.

From the street.
Full re-roof on our 1890s semi. Membrane on every night, scaffold down on day five, and the garden was tidier than when they arrived.
Damp patch over the back bedroom for two winters. Turned out to be the chimney flashing. Sorted in a morning.

Notes Questions
Good to know.
Do you need scaffolding for a small repair?
Not always. A few slipped slates on a bungalow or a low terrace can often be reached safely with a roof ladder or a tower. We'll tell you at the inspection and show you why.
How long does a full re-roof take?
Most Torbay terraces and semis take four to six working days once the scaffold is up. The membrane goes on before we leave each evening, so the house is never open to the weather overnight.
What if it rains halfway through?
We only strip what we can make weather-tight the same day. If a front comes in early, the membrane goes on early and anything still open is sheeted.
My house is in a conservation area. Does that change anything?
Usually it means matching like-for-like: natural slate of the same size and colour, and lead rather than plastic flashings. We check the requirements before we quote so there are no surprises.
Can you help with a storm damage insurance claim?
Yes. You get a dated photo report of the damage and an itemised written quote you can send straight to your insurer.
